I began my interest in human wellness at Virginia Tech. There, I received a B.S. in Exercise and Nutrition. Upon graduating, I worked in a physical therapy clinic. It was here that I first realized what a problem workplace stress can become. I treated many chronic pain patients, most as a result from job injury. Many of them were injured on the job, either from repetitive stress injury or from the cumulative effects of daily office work. I thought then that there must be a better way, a way to be on the preventative end. Preventing job related injuries would save companies billions, keep employees working, healthy, productive and happy.
Continuing on the path, I attended Charleston School of Massage in 2001. That same year, I became Nationally Certified and Licensed in South Carolina. I have since worked as a massage therapist in numerous settings including: Spas, Chiropractic Offices, In-home/Out-calls, and on set for a national advertising campaign.
I have maintained my growth as a therapist through continuing education. I am certified in Pregnancy Massage and the Chinese art of massage, Tui Na. I have also studied Myofacial Release, Trager Massage Technique and Hand/Foot Reflexology.
Massage is in no way just a job for me. It is my passion, my calling. I am excited to be able to share the extraordinary benefits touch can offer. I believe that too often we let days get away from us and fail to stop and appreciate our current place in life. Massage is about so much more than easing aching muscles, it is about having a true physiological impact on a person. Workplace chair massage allows me to share my passion for personal health and a proactive stance on wellness.
